I've decided to release a series of 6 new singles over the coming months. Some are brand new originals and others are covers from my live set. The plan is to release these online one at a time over the coming months then compile them together into a physical EP which will be for sale online and at gigs next year.
Alongside each of these tracks, I've commissioned a linoprint by Warwick based artist Alix Almond, I haven't seen all of them yet but I'm sure you'll agree she's absolutely smashed the first one, she's amazing! The handmade prints are now available to buy here or on her website.
The first track is Weeping Willow Blues, a song which has been in my live solo set for nearly 10 years now. Originally recorded in 1939 by Blind Boy Fuller, it's a song I've loved ever since I heard folk guitarist Steve Tilston play it on the BBC. I stayed up until 3am that night learning it!
I recorded at Juniper Recording Studio with Jason Page, mixed by Andie Thomson at Gighouse in Leamington. Both have been ace to work with, I'm really happy with the results.
